Charminar

The Charminar is one of the most prominent landmarks of Hyderabad. It was built around 1591 at the center of the old city of Hyderabad. There is a small mosque at the 2nd floor, but it is not open to the public. The monument dates from a time when Sultan Quli Qutb Shah moved from Golconda to the then new city of Hyderabad in 1590.

Golconda fort is another well known landmark of Hyderabad.

It was built in 16th century by the Qutb Shahi dynasty. In 17th century the army of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb lay siege to the fort. It took them more than eight months to conquer the fort. After that it fell into neglect and ruin.
